ANDREWS
Looking for any information on the Frederick Andrews family that worked, probably, as farm laborers in Macon County, Illinois around 1860. One son, Alfred Andrews, was listed as being born in Macon County, Illinois in 1860. Maybe some family had Andrews working for them during this time. They came from Ohio and moved back to Ohio after 1865. Family members at that time were Frederick, Catharine, Jonathan, John W., George W., Alfred, Daniel, Joseph, Frederick, Malissa, and James. A stepdaughter, Margaret, was also there and possibly is the Margaret Andrews married to John B. Travis in 1862 in Macon County, Illinois.

AUSENBAUM
I recently purchased at a local antique store a picture, about 4" x 2", an original from what looks to be latter quarter of 19th century, maybe 1880s. The writing on the back appears to be "A. W. Ausenbaum", or maybe Ansenbaum. In a clearer handwriting is: "harness maker, Maroa,
Macon Co., Ills." The picture was taken by "A. Milt. Lapham's City Art Gallery, Decatur, Ill." The man pictured appears to be possibly in his 30's, give or take a few years. He doesn't look terribly happy. The
picture is quite clear, and in perfect condition, given its age. I would love to see the picture in the hands of a descendant! I will send it to such a person. Possibly the clue of "harness maker" and Maroa will help a lot. If this is your ancestor, email me at the address below.

BAGBY
John Carrol Bagby, Mary A. Green Bagby, and Murtes Bagby.
Looking for info and leads regarding the family of John Carrol Bagby who lived in both Adams County and Macon County, Illinois. John Carrol Bagby was the son of William and Eliza Waring Bagby, born in North East Township, Adams
County, Illinois, July 13, 1853. He was the sixth of their nine children. John Carrol Bagby married Mrs. Mary A. Green (maiden name is unknown) in Adams County on October 11, 1875 (this is the only known record of Mary A. Green). He died December 6, 1889 in Decatur, and is buried in Pulaski
Cemetery, Hancock County, Illinois.
In a letter written February 9, 1886 from Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, by John Carrol Bagby to his father then living in Augusta, Hancock County, Illinois, John indicates that he has moved to Decatur. He writes that he (the letter says "we are living in the house with Mag" so he is with his
family) is staying with his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Bagby Wade, who operates a boarding house there. The letter gives 144 Merchant Street, Decatur, as the address of his sister's boarding house.
In the Will of William Bagby, dated June 23, 1904, he mentions "Murtes Bagby, daughter of my deceased son, John C. Bagby." In the final report by the Executor of the Will of William Bagby to the 1909 October Term of the Hancock
County, Illinois County Court, it is proven that Murtes Bagby "was deceased at the date said Will was made and executed" indicating that she died before June 23, 1904. No other info on Murtes Bagby is known. Any information or leads appreciated.

BROWN
I am the great grandson of John Landrum Brown and Eunice Emiline [nee Bunyan] Brown, both of the Bement/Cerro Gordo area (Piatt Co.), but the ancestors of several Brown lines, some of which extend into Macon Co. (as did my own, born and raised in Decatur). As you know, Brown (especially John Brown) is a tough name to research. To add to the complication, according to his Piatt Co. death certificate (farmer in Bement, died 1904) he was born in Gallatin Co., Kentucky in 1846. I've had little luck trying to find records from Gallatin. Also, I'm sure (as per the original veteran's stone at the Old Cemetery, Bement, where he and his wife (and her parents: Azor and Catherine [Carpenter] Bunyan) are buried, that he served in Company D of the 73rd Illinois Infantry in the Civil War. He was active in the GAR after the war and might have been in the Decatur rather than the Cerro Gordo Post. I know that many of my Brown relatives are in Piatt and likely Moultrie Co.s, but I'm also sure that some of the descendents of John Brown and Eunice "Emma" Emiline Bunyan ended up in Macon County (As did my maternal grandmother, Almeda May [Brown] Arnold [1878-1978], the most remarkable woman I've ever known, wife of Dr. Samuel E. Arnold of Decatur).
Any information on this line or other contacts would be greatly appreciated. My Best Regards.

CARNEAU
I am looking for information on my grandmother's father, or any of his family. His name was Albert Agustus CORNEAU, and he served in the Civil War, 152 Infantry, Company K. The listing of military units on the Illinois GenWeb page listed he was from Macon Co. I have an uncomfirmed report that Albert's father's first name was Stephen, and that he married Sarah Blain. I have no confirmation of this, neither date
nor location. My grandmother Hazel CORNEAU married Alex Ollermann, and their 4 sons were all born in South Dakota. Alex's family was from Nebraska. Hazel listed in the birth records of my uncle's (I actually have seen the ledger books in the county courthouse) that she was from Missouri. Her father's service in the Civil War was verified well enough for her to be a proud member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, which is where I got the lead to check out Illinois. Any links to any Corneau's would be appreciated, whether it be birth, death, land ownership, marriage, etc. I have listed in this short note everything that I know on my CORNEAU lineage, and am eager to learn as much more as I
can.

CROCKER
I know I'm descended from the John H. Crocker who was the first railroad agent in Maroa, and started Crocker & Co. (a bank, I believe) who is mentioned in the Maroa History. He was one of the founders of Maroa, and would have been there when the first railroad came through town. But I can't find out "anything" about him. I believe he was married to Mary N. Pillsbury. But I can't get beyond that. Do any of you have any further information? Thank you SO much.
